Using rock climbing & counselling to empower our youth and our community.
Climb and Conquer Society Canada
Our History:
In 2011, rock climbers and volunteers from the not-for-profit Vancouver Rock Climbing Group Society founded Climb and Conquer Society Canada as the first-of-its-kind pilot project in BC and a registered charity (85092 7237 RR0001).
Our goal is to provide access to rock climbing and clinical counselling to youth (age 13-19) and their families to support them to be active leaders to create their own successful communities.
We support youth age 13-19 from low-income, disadvantaged, BICOP, indigenous backgrounds in Vancouver, BC. Our programs are open to ALL YOUTH; youth from non-disadvantaged background can join and pay regular gym fees.
100% of our programs are $0 to youth and families, paid by community donations. Our society is 100% volunteer run, no paid staff.
Our current 3 programs:
1. One-on-One Mentorship Matches (once a week) where we carefully match 1 Volunteer with 1 Youth and they meet once a week to indoor rock climbing or other recreational activities for minimum 6 months.
